Super Chunky Chocolate Sesame Granola

Muesli and Granola are still my number 1 snack and even though I usually make them at home myself, there’s one particular Berlin café chain that I’ll always buy granola from because it is just sooo good.

It’s sweet, but not too much, chocolate-y and extremely crunchy with super big chunks (aka heavenly). So I tried to recreate it and what can I say; I kinda nailed it with this recipe you guys!

and now here is the recipe for this:

Super Chunky Chocolate Sesame Granola

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oats

  • 1 cup + 1-2 tbsp shredded coconut

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

  • pinch of salt (more or less to taste)

  • pinch of cinnamon

  • unsweetened cocoa powder (again, to taste)

  • 1 tsp maca root powder (optional)

  • 2-3 tbsp tahini

  • 3 tbsp liquid sweetener (e.g. coconut blossom syrup, rice syrup, agave, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. First mix all the dry ingredients except for 1-2 tbsp of the shedded coconut flakes. Add them to a food processor and blend until roughly ground.

  2. Add tahini, liquid sweetener as well as the remaining 1-2 tbsp coconut flakes and knead until you get a kind of dough-consistency. (If the mass is too dry just add a little more tahini or liquid sweetener).

  3. Pre-heat your oven to 175°C and transfer the mass in bigger and smaller chunks to a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Then bake for 6-10mins until crisp.

  4. Let the granola cool completely and then you can store it in an airtight container at room temperature. Done!

The granola chunk on the left is kinda giving Thaddeus from Spongebob.
